What is an AD (AD) Code

An Authorised Dealer Code (AD Code) is a 14-digit numerical code provided by a bank with which your business has a current account. You will need to register an AD Code at every port from where your goods are cleared by customs. At the time of customs clearance, your Customs House Agent (CHA) will ask you to provide the AD Code for that particular port

Documents Required

  • Bank’s AD Authorisation letter in Annexure-A (On the bank's official letterhead)

  • GST Certificate

  • Import-Export Code Certificate (self-attested copy)

  • PAN Card (self-attested copy)

  • Aadhaar (self-attested copy)

  • Canceled Cheque (Current A/C)

  • Digital Signature (Class 3)

If you are partly or wholly not in possession of any of the documents listed above, you can contact us at 9821606040 and we can get it arranged for you! You will receive a discount if you choose to do so.

importance

A registered AD Code for export is essential for customs clearance. If you do not have one, you will not be able to generate your shipping bill number, which is compulsory for customs clearance.

BEnefits

An AD Code registration with customs ensures that any government benefits you avail of – duty rebates and exemptions, GST (Goods and Services Tax) refunds, etc – are credited directly to your current account.

Validity

An AD Code registration has a lifetime validity. However, if an exporter ships from more than one port, whether in the same state or in different states, they must register the AD Code for each of these ports.
