How to Get an ICEGATE AD Code

  • May 13, 2023
  • 2 min read

If you're planning to export goods from India, you'll need an ICEGATE AD code. An AD code, or an Authorised Dealer code, is a 10-digit number that's unique to each exporter. This code is issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and is used to track all export transactions. In this blog post, we'll take a look at how you can get an ICEGATE AD code.

Step 1: Register for an IEC:

Before you can apply for an ICEGATE AD code, you need to have an Importer Exporter Code (IEC) issued by the DGFT. To obtain an IEC, you need to fill out an application form and submit it along with the required documents. Once you've submitted the application, you'll receive an acknowledgement receipt that contains a unique application number.

Step 2: Submit an Online Application for AD Code

Once you have an IEC, you can apply for an ICEGATE AD code online through the DGFT's e-commerce portal. You'll need to fill out the AD code application form and upload the required documents, including your IEC certificate and bank certificate. The bank certificate should be issued by the bank where you have a current account, and it should state that you're a customer in good standing.

Step 3: Wait for Verification

Once you've submitted your application, it will be reviewed by the DGFT. They may contact you for additional information or documents if needed. After the DGFT has verified your application, you'll receive an email with your ICEGATE AD code.

Step 4: Update Your Records

After you receive your AD code, you should update your records with the code. This includes updating your IEC certificate, bank account details, and any other relevant documents. You'll also need to share the AD code with your customs broker or agent to ensure that they can process your export transactions.

Conclusion:

Getting an ICEGATE AD code is an essential step if you're planning to export goods from India. By following these steps and providing the necessary documents, you can get your AD code and start exporting your products. It's important to keep your records up-to-date and share your AD code with your customs broker or agent to ensure that your exports go smoothly.
